SUGGESTIONS FOR USING THE PROGRAM

Beginning of school as the first activity of the day or as maintenance at the beginning of the daily math session. HEADS UP! is an excellent start and routine for the beginning of the school day or math class. When the students enter they do the next worksheet of their HEADS UP! Math Workouts. Use the digital version (First 5s) as a warm-up for your middle school math class.

One day a week in math class as weekly review. Set aside one day a week as HEADS UP! review time. The students work through all pages for that week. The teacher is available to help individual students with problem areas. HEADS UP!Math Workouts can be completed, marked and tracked all within a class period.

Daily or weekly math homework. Pages from the HEADS UP! Math Workouts can be used as daily homework, as a combination of in-class and homework, or assigned at the beginning of the week to be done with regular homework over the week.

Whatever strategy used, the students will be maintaining their memory through regular, cyclic review of skills and concepts from the Common Core Frameworks.
